 | February 2022 After many months of hard work put forth by the NCJW Realignment Project Taskforce, we are pleased to announce that the recommendations made by the Task Force were accepted by the Board of Directors at a special January meeting. At the core of these recommendations is a Roadmap - a set of guiding principles for advocacy and service programs that not only prioritizes gender and racial equity approaches and outcomes, it also takes into account the historic and current strengths and capacity of the organization. Task Force co-chairs Judy Cohen and Dr. Elizabeth Miller, as well as Teddi and I, are grateful for the honest conversations that took place over the past six months, and we look forward to the next steps required to implement the Roadmap. In future communications, you will see updated and new programming, plus opportunities to sign up to engage, volunteer, and support our work. Within this newsletter you will also find information on February’s virtual programs, including a presentation by Allderdice High School’s Black Student Union, workshops on saving money for your child’s educational future, and much needed in-person volunteer opportunities at Thriftique where you are sure to have fun while also supporting everything we do at NCJW.
